TV Manufacturers To Produce 2,6 Million 4K Ultra HD Displays
Manufacturers of television displays will according to expectations ship 2,6 million televisions with a resolution of 4000 pixels or more this year. This forecast was made by market researcher DisplaySearch. This means there will probably be sold much more high resolution televisions than last year.
According to research the amount of 4k-televisions will increase by fourteen times in comparison to last year, when around 63000 such smart large tv sets were sold. Of the 2,6 million expected television sales the largest portion is expected to have a diagonal of 50 inch or more.
Currently there are few Ultra HD televisions available with a diagonal smaller than 50 inch. According to numbers from DisplaySearch the televisions with a 50 inch diagonal will become most popular. Also models of 65, 58 and 55 inch would be getting a large amount of the share in the UHD TV market.
Many large television manufacturers announced 4K-resolution televisions at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) last Januari. So will LG and Samsung be coming with 4K-resolution televisions in different sizes, just as Sharp, Innolux and AUO.
